The first way is to change the sphere of influence you hang out in. You want to do this to build a bigger and better brand. How do you change your sphere of influence? Find someone who you want to gain their attention and offer them something of value with no strings attached.
No selling… just reach out and use your products, skill, or knowledge to help them grow. What you want from them more than anything is a case study and testimonial. Your value will be increased in the marketplace by having a person of higher influence recommend you and your product or services.
The second way to grow your business is to recognize the tipping point in your relationship with your influencer and express your value. Don’t get them thinking your time is not worth value. It certainly is. There needs to be a point in the relationship where your value is expressed. This guarantees that they see you as bringing value to the relationship.
They will naturally talk about you without having to ask them for the referral, just because of the help you are bringing their organization.
This is about you giving away your premium work not your free stuff.
Casey Super Tip: If you find yourself offering up too much of your time to any one person it’s because you didn’t properly express your value. There is a fine line between how much time I can give you and how much time I AM giving you.
That will come naturally through time. If you find that someone rely’s too much on you then somewhere in the mix you failed to express your true value. If they are abuse your time too much it’s time to talk.
You will always benefit some how by seeing them succeed. Look through your arsenal of skills and find a service that will help them grow.
